Any and all organic material can go in CERO compost containers. This includes:
​
  • bones and fat trimmings
  • dairy products
  • eggshells
  • fruits and vegetables
  • meat, poultry, and seafood
  • bread
  • rice and other grains
  • beans
  • pasta
  • spoiled food

All food soiled paper including:
  • coffee grounds and filters
  • paper napkins and paper towels​
  • tea bags

Other materials including:
  • floral and grass clippings
  • leaves
  • weeds
  • BPI Certified compostable liner bags

The following items cannot be composted, and therefore CERO cannot accept them:
​
  • NO plastics of any kind
  • NO metal of any kind
  • NO glass of any kind
  • NO butter wrappers
  • NO plastic-coated disposable paper products, such as coffee cups, plates, bowls, frozen food boxes, etc.
  • NO plastic cups, lids, straws or tableware
  • NO plastic gloves or bandages
  • NO waxed or coated cardboard
  • NO styrofoam or packing peanuts
  • NO twist ties
  • NO twine
  • NO plastic strapping
  • NO hazardous wastes
